LEARN TO PLAY

RallyHoops is a fast-paced, take anywhere, game that is simple to setup and easy to learn

INITIAL SETUP

Pro Tip:

Nets are all the same length, but there is a long loop side and a short loop side. Make sure the longer loops are connected onto the hoops

1. UNPACK IT

Place your RallyHoops set down and unstrap the tabbed end of each of the four blue bands. Remove the two poles and four hoops from the base units and place them to the side.

2. CLICK IT

Press the buttons located on the bottom of the pole and insert it into the top of base; do the same with your second pole and base. Slide the inner pole up until you hear a "click" for our intermediate (6'/4') height and a second click for our standard (7'/5') height.

3. LOCK IT

Remove the key tab located on the back of the large hoop and insert the large hoop into the lower hole on the inner poles. Then insert the key into the two small holes vertically to lock the hoop in place. The same steps apply for the small hoop.

4. place It

Separate the base units, facing each other: 15 feet apart for intermediate play or 25 feet apart for standard play… Get ready to start the rally!

HOW TO START

TEAM SETUP

  1. Pick two teams, two players on each team

  2. At opposite RallyHoop units, teammates stand on a diagonal from each other

SHOOT TO SERVE

  1. Teams decide which team serves first with a Shoot Off

  2. In a clockwise order, each player attempts to shoot the ball in the hoop from behind the pole

  3. First player to make the shot becomes the server

  4. If you want a quick start, the player shooting can call hit-or-miss

HOW TO RALLY

  1. A rally begins when the Server serves the ball to his/her partner, the Setter. All players must start behind the poles

  2. The Setter then has two options: (a) hit the ball into the hoop(s) to score points, or (b) set the ball up to the Server, so he/she can run up and hit the ball into the hoop(s) to score more points!

  3. Teams rotate serving in a clockwise direction

HOW TO SCORE

Server Scores

  1. Server taps the ball into the bottom hoop for 2 points

  2. Server taps the ball into the top hoop for 3 points

  3. Server taps the ball through the top and bottom hoops for 5 points

Setter Scores

  1. Setter taps the ball into the bottom hoop for 1 point

  2. Setter taps the ball into the top hoop for 2 points

  3. Setter taps the ball through the top and bottom hoops for 3 points

HOW TO WIN

The goal is to reach exactly 21 points! Anything more and the team’s score will reset to 16 points

Once a team reaches 21 points, each player of the losing team has 1 redemption shot. If they miss their chance at redemption, you have your winners!

REDEMPTION SHOTS

Once a team reaches exactly 21 points, each player on the losing team has one Redemption Shot from behind the opposing RallyHoops pole to continue the game!

If a player makes a redemption shot through the bottom, top, or both hoops, the winning team’s score is knocked down from 21 points to 16 points.

Afterwards, the player who made the shot becomes the server, and the teams continue playing. If the player misses their shot, the ball goes to their teammate for one shot, and if both teammates miss, it's game over.

If the losing team finds itself in a 2nd redemption, the previously hit hoop is now locked out for both players, no shots allowed! In 3rd redemption only the last remaining scoring option is available, so good luck!

DEFENSE

Each Player is allowed 2 Defense Plays per game

A Defensive Play is when the Defensive Player, standing on the same side of the court as the Server, crosses the back edge of the RallyHoops base after the Server serves the ball in the air

A Defensive Play allows the Defensive Player to chase down the Server and alter the opposing team’s shot or block the ball before it goes through either hoop(s)

The Defensive Player cannot make contact with an opposing player, the RallyHoops unit or the ball after it goes through either hoop

If a Defensive Player makes contact with either the Server, Setter, the RallyHoops set, or the ball after it passes through the cylinder of either hoop, and that contact is determined to unfairly alter the Server or Setter’s shot or set, that team’s Rally will reset and the Defensive Player will forfeit 1 Defensive Play.

“This game was so easy to pick up! After watching a few games my boyfriend and I jumped right in, can’t wait to play again”

INFRACTIONS

If any of the following infractions occur, the team that commits the foul forfeits their rally, with no points awarded.

  • Server cannot serve the ball directly into any hoop (only allowed on Redemption Shot)

  • During each rally there cannot be more than 3 hits, including the serve

  • Setter must be first to touch the ball after the serve

  • Player’s body may not contact any part of the RallyHoop Unit (including the base, rims or net)

  • After the serve, if the setter goes to score but misses off of the rim, the server can score off the ricochet

  • If a ball hits the ground, an opposing player, another player, or an object, then the play is dead

  • The same player cannot hit the ball consecutively

  • A player may not palm, cuff, carry, throw, toss, or catch the ball during a rally
